myobie Posted March 20 Share #1 Posted March 20 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) My Leicaflex is in need of repair and I plan to do the repair myself. Sadly, the grey film retaining clip shattered while advancing in the middle of a role – split into three pieces. I’ve acquired a 3D printed replacement and a potential metal replacement as a backup, so I am ready to attempt the repair. However, everything I’ve see in manuals seems to indicate that I need to take the camera basically completely apart to get to where I can put the new retaining clip in. So I wanted to ask: is it really true that I gotta take the leatherette off, then both the top and bottom off, and finally can get to the take up spool to put the new retaining clip around it? I’ve replied my Canon Demi EE17 in the past, so this isn’t my first rodeo, but I’m also not super experienced either. 😬 I’m working to build up the gumption to get in there and I guess I just want to double check that I have the right plan. Thanks for any advice, tips, and/or encouragement. 😅 Edited March 20 by myobie
