Just wanted to say that "Art di mano," out of S. Korea, did a really great job re-skinning my late father's 1953 IIIf!  https://artedimano.com/113  A 1st class operation all the way.     Reasonably priced, with lots of different leathers (skins) & colors from which to choose.  Shipping (to/from) is slow--but worth the wait.

Pics.:  Before (black leatherette) / after (grey lizard skin).

Fitting that, having fought for S. Korea in front-line combat (U.S. Army, 24th Infantry Div.), ca. 1950, they should repay him by treating his prized possession with such loving care... 🤗

That's beautiful and the background also, makes me glad I have kept my IIIf and wishing I had not sold my R8.

My others: black R8, digital CL, Digilux 3, V-Lux Type 114, et al. are off to the right, out of FoV.  Don't dispare, there are plenty of R8/9s on the market! 🙂

I forgot to mention that this 72 y.o. camera (though not the topic of this conversation) works perfectly!  Had it CLA'd & shutter curtain replaced by Leica, Canada, in '99--I believe, for the 1st time ever.  Since then, not a bit of trouble.  A testament to legendary Leica quality.
