TL3 Posted March 14 Share #1 Posted March 14 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just bought an ever ready case for the M3, but unfortunately the seller didn’t disclose that the bottom screw was missing. I have a Buddha ear M3 SS with the large tripod mount. I’m wondering if anyone has any leads on where I can get a replacement screw for the case? TL3 Posted March 14 Author Share #3 Posted March 14 More like the screw in this photo, but mine is bigger (3/8 inch?). Or alternatively, is it safe to put my M3 in there without screwing it on? lexffm Posted March 14 Share #4 Posted March 14 I have the case with the big and another with the small one. The big one is this: Welcome, dear visitor! Well, since the leather strap is attached to the everready case and not to the camera body, the camera body might fall out of the everready case if not secured by the (missing) screw. Return the incomplete case to the seller, there are so many complete cases out there.
TL3 Posted March 14 Author Share #6 Posted March 14 Unfortunately it was just done on marketplace, and I’m getting radio silence from them. Other than a bad review, not much recourse. But if there’s a cheap source to get a replacement screw that would be great, otherwise the case will be relegated to protecting the camera inside another bag. Mute-on Posted March 15 Share #7 Posted March 15 Advertisement (gone after registration) Something like this would work nicely. The camera need only be held in place to assist gravity, not resist it (i.e., it sits upright in the case) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/546536-REG/Manfrotto_088LBP_088LBP_Female_1_4_20_to.html Notwithstanding this, I think I only ever used my eveready case once. It does add considerable bulk, interfering with the unique feel of a Leica M.

Yeah I definitely have bought stuff that I didn’t end up using, but I do think it’s cool to have an M3 set with Summicron rigid and first party accessories. This screw will almost be as much as I paid for the case, but it does feel wasteful to throw out a case that otherwise is usable, so I would rather fix it if reasonable. also like how I may be able to use the M3 with my tripod now. Photon42 Posted March 15 Share #9 Posted March 15 Well. The one from my link is cheaper and fits too. You can always adda washer, if required. But maybe you don't dig the looks of it. Looks are expensive ...

I would prefer to go for a cheaper option, rather than paying almost the price of the case for just a screw.
