Helge Posted March 5 Share #21 Â Posted March 5 Advertisement (gone after registration) So no reason to suspect the lens. But the batteries are not the recommended type. LR44 is an alkaline battery, recommended are either 2x SR44 (silver oxide) or one 1/3N (lithium). However I don't think that the battery might be the reason...?
Advertisement Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Hi Helge, Take a look here What did I do wrong? (Poor results with the Leica R3). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
masjah Posted March 5 Share #22 Â Posted March 5 It might just be the batteries. If silver or lithium ones are specified, it might not just be for longevity, but also because they maintain a constant voltage until almost completely exhausted. The R3 is an oldish camera, and its metering system might rely on the actual battery voltage value being correct in order to function accurately. It might be worth trying the recommended battery type. Â
Helge Posted March 5 Share #23 Â Posted March 5 Alkalines like the LR44 have a potentially higher voltage than the recommended SR44, could be a reason.
prioritet Posted March 12 Share #24 Â Posted March 12 I am waiting with interest for the results of your experiments. my R3 batteries do not work at subzero temperatures, they come to life in the heat.
LightSpeed Posted April 22 Author Share #25  Posted April 22 and I'm finally back. I got better results under too much light, but manage to screw some photos in darker, indoor places.  In any case, I'm happy as I know for sure that the problem is me and not the camera!  Thanks everyone! Here are some shots. Sorry for two being upside down: I swear they are not like that in my laptop. Welcome, dear visitor!
