JoshuaR Posted February 20 Share #1 Posted February 20 Advertisement (gone after registration) The other day I went to B&H and tried the Nikon Z6 III. It was the first time I'd used an EVF camera with no blackout. I was surprised by how much it reminded me of the M system experience. I really liked it and could immediately see the value for fast-action photography. On my SL2-S, there is a short but not inconsequential viewfinder blackout. It's no problem at all for day to day or portrait photography, but with sports I do find it problematic. I don't like the fact that the "decisive moment" is often obscured by the shutter. What's the story with the newer cameras—SL3, SL3-S? Is the blackout shorter? Is there any way to get around it, maybe by shooting in continuous mode or relying on electronic shutter? Is the e-shutter workable for fast action, or will there be distortions? Many thanks—I'm sure these are basic questions!

ImmerDraussen Posted February 20 Share #2 Posted February 20 There is no black out when shooting continuously. I have user user mode with 2frames/s. It is slow enough for single shoots
LD_50 Posted February 20 Share #3 Posted February 20 These are not blackout free viewfinders like the Nikon that was referenced.
