I don't know if this is a preview of what's coming for the S4, but Leitz Cine has released a new 20mm lens for cine cameras:

Most of the Thalia lenses are based on S lenses, and this new 20mm has very little clearance between the rear element and sensor, so it looks more like a mirrorless design than an SLR design. T:3.6 should correspond to F:3.5, like our current 24mm S/Thalia lens.

Looks totally normal for PL/LPL lens, the mount itself is massive chunk of steel so as to ensure maximum stability. If you look at other lenses from the set the mount looks every where the same. Compare it with any other Thalia lens.  If your fear is that it might not make it to s mount I believe it won’t be physical constraints, rather marketing decisions.  PL mount was devised when mirror shutters were still a thing.
