I just want to share some recent experience with USB C power for video. I am working on a project that needs video for about 3 hours. In the first run, I used a SL2-s with 4 batteries: 1 SCL-4, and 3 SCL-6, and took 1080P 29.97fps. The SCL-4 worked for about 1 hr , and a SCL-6 about 1 hr 20min.

In the second run, I used a SL2-s and a SL3, both loaded with a fully charged SCL-6, and plugged in USB C PD power, from a Anker 65W charger and a Panasonic S1R charger, respectively. After 3 hrs, The battery in SL2-s showed 50%, and the one in SL3 is still 100%.

Based on this observation, I estimate that SL2-s + SCL-6 + USB C PD power can take ~ 6 hrs of video without stopping, and the same setup with SL3 can take video as long as need. Both cameras take 9V x 3A = 27W power from the charger. The SL2-s appears to consume slightly more than 27W, and needs to take some power from the battery.

have you looked at the dummy battery?

I use the 99W V-lock battery on it for hours.

SL2 and Sl2s in the USB-C port don't deliver power at full speed, just a trickle charge. the dummy buttery would come in handy.

I looked at the dummy battery option, but did not buy. This is a one-time engineering project and needs precise time tracking, and continuous video makes it much easier to synchronize with other measurements. My other tasks are not time-critical and I can switch batteries between recording.

With SCL-6 + USB C PD power, the ~6 hr battery life of SL2 is sufficient for most video taking, and I do not see any advantage to use a dummy battery.
