bill-au Posted February 10 Share #1 Posted February 10 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I've just purchased a Manual Focus lens from 7Artisans (L Mount). I've switched the camera to Manual Focus, entered 18mm as the lens profile. I have tried set "Focus Peaking" to ON in one of the Capture Assistant profiles and I've also assigned to a control button. But it DOES NOT SWITCH ON. There is no focus peaking in Live View. I can magnify the view and see the lens is focussing. The "Focus Peaking" shows in the Preview after I've taken the picture. This seems like a (really bad) bug to me. This works on the M series cameras with an "unknown" lens in Live View. I've tried this with two different MF lens, so this is not specific behaviour to a particular lens (or even adaptor, as I've tried that variation too). Any suggestions or experience with this? Advertisement Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Hi bill-au, Take a look here Focus peaking not working on SL3 with MF lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill-au Posted February 10 Author Share #2 Posted February 10 As near as I can tell, this is related to having the "Enhanced Mode" set for "Live View". If you turn that off, focus peaking works again.

If you turn that off, focus peaking works again. Many people turn on all the settings and wonder why the camera stopped working. Enhanced should only be used in real dark situations where you can't frame because it is too dark,

Yes, it does: GO: Menu Menu 5 Camera settings Capture Assistants In Settings you can assign a variety of settings to the four info Profiles. Select the one you want by toggling the FN button. You can assign the focus peaking in one or any of the Info Profile. Since I frequently choose one method to another, I stuck a rubber bumper of the FN button to make it easier to use.
