Elmarit-M 28mm f2.8 ASPH 39mm Filter Question......

Hello, I have the Elmarit-M 28mm f2.8 lens with the screw on lens hood, ( the "new" hood type that I really I dislike ), and I am looking for a 39mm UV filter that can be mounted / screwed on the front of the lens and still allow the metal lens-hood to pass / mount over it. I've tried a number of filter makes but they are all just a tad too thick and the lens-hood will not pass over them.............Leica's UV filter for that is at the usual Leica ++ Bonus cost that I would rather avoid.

Any ideas / recommendations for a 39mm UV please?

I have both BW and Leitz filters that I've used on the Elmarit-M Asph. II and they work fine with the screw-on hood.  This may sound obvious, but did you unscrew the front protection ring?

Hello jja, yes the front protection ring is off...........I'll see whether I can find a 39mm B&W filter and will try that. Thanks for the reply.
