NZDavid Posted February 8 Share #1 Posted February 8 Advertisement (gone after registration) Punakaiki, South Island West Coast, NZ. Despite having visited many times, the weather and the light are always different. There are no many more tourists, but also a very nice new visitors' center. Sometimes also I find it's OK to have people in the picture. To me, they seem almost significant compared with the awesome power of nature. M10/ 2.8/24 Elmarit-ASPH. Welcome, dear visitor! NZDavid Posted February 8 Author Share #3 Posted February 8 The winding coastal highway is very scenic but also very challenging. Average speed is about 50 km/h with some corners down to 15 km/h. gbealnz Posted February 8 Share #4 Posted February 8 Long time since we were there. For a sec I thought the post was about the "Coast to Coast".
NZDavid Posted February 8 Author Share #5 Posted February 8 Sorry, typo, coast not cost, can't change it now... We came back via Arthur's Pass where there were roadworks at the village and an 8km tailback of traffic going the other way for the Coast-to-Coast. Only about four cars were getting through at a time.
