Advertisement Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Hi Leitzfan, Take a look here M PL Mount--Cine Lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
J S H Posted February 7 Share #2 Posted February 7 (edited) Nice lenses, for their intended use. We have a set at work. They weren't designed to cover full frame, although a few of the longer focal lengths almost do. However, the 35 isn't even close. Guess I should've read the specs more closely (not that I own one). The grand irony--100 yrs. ago, Leica (Leitz Camera) began as a still camera that used 35mm motion picture film format for stills (the original "full frame"). Now, 100 yrs. later, its motion picture lenses "aren't designed to cover full frame..." 😄 P.S. Where those gorgeous Flickr stills shot w/ your Leica cine/s? Jaw-dropping--every single one. Thank you. Yes, there are a few shots on my Flickr page taken with those Summicron C’s. Please know that in the cinema world, Super 35 is the long established standard, so it’s not unexpected that those lenses don’t cover full frame. However, Leica recently released a new set of lenses in LPL mount that will cover full frame. https://www.leitz-cine.com/product/hugo
