I love Kase magnetic caps on my other cameras for this, just curious if anyone has tried one of these yet and what you think. Thanks! Advertisement Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hi Tarekith, Take a look here Anyone tried the Bioluminous lens cap for stock square Q2/3 hood?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Aram Langhans Posted February 3 Share #2 Posted February 3 Looks interesting. I might be tempted to try it.
RobW0 Posted February 3 Share #3 Posted February 3 (edited) I have the otect cap on my Q3. This seems to be a copy of that. It has a slightly higher cost but the materials that are used look to be of a higher quality. I have been happy with it. Tarekith Posted February 8 Author Share #6 Posted February 8 Just wanted to do a quick update as I ended up purchasing this lens cap after all. For background, since I started doing photography, I always put my lens caps (typically Kase magnetic ones) in my back left pocket when shooting. While I like the stock lens cap, It’s a little too big for that to be comfortable. This cap is nice and thin, and while made of what feels like 3D printed plastic feels pretty robust. The fit is pretty good, it has a nice snap when you attach it to the hood. I’m pretty comfortable with how securely it attaches, but if it was any looser I would maybe worry a bit about it coming loose taking it in and out of my bag. Again, probably not an issue but I’ll see how it goes with more use. For now I think it’s worth the price, though I am curious to also try one of the Qtec ones once they make one for the 43 hood. Tarekith Posted February 9 Author Share #8 Posted February 9 I guess it depends what you're used to. It's no easier to drop than any of the Sony or Kase lens caps I have.
saxbike Posted February 9 Share #9 Posted February 9 I purchased a JJC round, vented hood for the Q3. Fit and finish are very good. I use a 67mm lens cap on the hood. I like the round hood because it allows me to add or subtract Kase magnetic filters without removing the hood. I can even adjust the polarizer. I would guess that the round hood is less efficient than the original hood. https://www.amazon.com/JJC-Cameras-Replaces-Center-Vignetting/dp/B0CL25Y5FB/ref=sr_1_4?adgrpid=1346902313919407&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ycR5FNusOYxohZZJ50Rvxl01DvrXjcJKv25gdFBFexh5V8UKj5X9YuWhHk4IM-JnxVALCDrTxINlW-mFywQCVwQftap2oUAJFv3MCHi_2eIFjTPmLWdmo4aJX34wKI4KYT5BVUqIw85QZKS9l9A1TfXOfk_GT8GudaH2BoDC_AHvYreiiXgoXoHiWzF8nsBiVPIAU2jxPJw68h_21bd0zoNRPXReP6iVW1tCFb6r-2U.5eqMwpDdFfYdDnwZdd3uzD8P1QICoWFn1kvAI668Hjw&dib_tag=se&hvadid=84181466534914&hvbmt=bp&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=56650&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=p&hvtargid=kwd-84181749366858%3Aloc-190&hydadcr=18447_10795615&keywords=leica%2Bq%2Blens%2Bhood&mcid=7c3631ee6e9e3ad58b59d6536feda2fb&msclkid=fe5cd9f43cab1d046584be5cdc44e57c&qid=1739120897&sr=8-4&th=
