Sailormannn Posted February 1 Share #1 Posted February 1 Advertisement (gone after registration) New to using the d’lux 8 and Leica Fotos. Using the latest v1.4.0 Leica firmware and Leica Fotos application. If I select JPEG and DNG Files together to download in Leica Fotos on an iPhone 16 Pro Max, it says the file size per photo is 38mb, but I only see the JPEG version in Leica Fotos and in the Leica folder in iOS. If i select DNG by itself, the DNG version is there vs both JPEG and DNG. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong.
Advertisement Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Hi Sailormannn, Take a look here LEICA FOTOS - Downloading JPEGS and DNG files.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elmars Posted February 2 Share #2 Posted February 2 I did the same with the M11. When I download both, I can see in the Leica app and the Apple Photos app (both have the identical content because the Leica app saves in the Apple Photos app) an image for which DNG + JPG is displayed, so both versions should actually be available. However, I cannot load both images into Lightroom, only the DNG. If I download only the DNG, only the DNG is displayed.
PhotoCruiser Posted February 2 Share #3 Posted February 2 SL2 + latest Leica Fotos + iPhone 15 Pro Max My Apple Fotos on the MacBook and on the iPhone say it downloaded JPG and RAW from Leica Fotos, but only the JPG is shown in Apple Fotos. Do you get the writing JPG+DNG in the upper corner? Chris Welcome, dear visitor! Sailormannn Posted February 2 Author Share #6 Posted February 2 I found a way to get this to work in a roundabout way. If i save as JPG+DNG in Leica Fotos, and download to iOS Photos it appears as JPG+DNG in iCloud but only the JPG is accessible. If i use iOS Lightroom I can see the DNG version. Select “Share” and use file format “Original” to share to Photos and the DNG files transfers. It’s a bit roundabout but works. Would prefer to just have both the JPG+DNG transfer using Leica Fotos, so looking for a better solution.
Tarekith Posted February 7 Share #7 Posted February 7 Advertisement (gone after registration) Use the share functionality from within Fotos, it's the same icon you see in iOS photos. (not the open in Lightroom button you see in Fotos) From here you can choose to share either the jpg or the DNG into Lightroom.

The better solution would be that Leica code either Leica Fotos for MacOS and Windows or a reduced version Leica Transfer to download the photos wireless from the camera to a computer. Honestly i don't think that this should be very complicated to program. You can use Lightroom Classic to import the fotos thru USB (if the camera has a usb port) from the camera to your computer, wireless would be more comfortable than connecting the USB cable or worst, pulling the memory card. Adobes Foto Package raise from 14$ to 19$ per month and not be available for new subscribers, so in case hurry to subscribe. There is also other software doing same or similar and cost less/same/more Chris Edited February 7 by PhotoCruiser

There is also other software doing same or similar and cost less/same/more Chris It sounds like a possible bug or limitation in Leica Fotos when handling both JPEG and DNG downloads simultaneously. Try downloading just the DNG files first, then separately download the JPEGs. Also, ensure iOS isn’t auto-converting DNG files. I recently worked on a marketing campaign that involved video ads and high-resolution images. Sending these large media files to different departments used to be a struggle. Filemail made it effortless! It’s the best tool for businesses looking to share big files without delays. Thanks for answering, you made my day.
