Mark Atwood Posted January 24 Share #1 Posted January 24 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm new to this group - and to Leica World. I recently bought a (used, but pristine) Leica M-P Typ 240. I've used it only a bit, but a problem recently cropped up - or perhaps I just noticed it. When I change shutter speeds on the dial, it doesn't always seem to "take." The actual shutter speed shown in the window, or on the screen in LV, may still be the shutter speed I just changed it from. Or more commonly, the "actual" shutter speed is one click behind what is shown on the dial. E.g. when it's set on1/500, it's actually at 1/250. Even more bothersome, when it's set on Automatic, the exposure is all over the place. I can change f-stop, and instead of keeping an even exposure, some frames are over-exposed and some are under. Is this a problem that has a home remedy???

andybarton Posted January 24 Share #2 Posted January 24 Welcome to the Forum. My 2015 M240 is currently back at Wetzlar having the same problem fixed. This is the first time I’ve heard of anyone else having the same problem. I suspect that it’s just dirty connections within the shutter speed setting mechanism, but when they get round to evaluating the problem, I will share that information here, of course. I may have an answer in the summer.
satijntje Posted January 25 Share #3 Posted January 25 Andy, you can count 4 months turn over time for digital M cameras. Just had my M10-R back from Wetzlar after 4 1/2 months
