This one works on my SL2 in a combined input for the microphone and headphone jack.   It requires and adapter from 2.5 to 3.5mm.   I don't know if the SL3 has the same setup.

Panasonic DMW-RS2 Remote Shutter

I think the assigned socket on the SL3 isn't compatible with this device but thanks for taking the time to reply.

Anyone know/recommend a cable remote release compatible with the SL3 please?

And yes, I am aware of Leica Fotos - I just prefer a cable type of remote.

Thanks

Everything(*) that works for Panasonic, also works for Leica, but you need an TRRS-adapter going from 2.5mm (Pana) to 3.5mm (Leica). See for instance the link below. All 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapters may not work, apparently because of no common protocols for these plugs. The one in the link below works (but I have other plug adapters that don't work).

(*)  As far as I can tell; I have multiple devices with Panasonic cables that works flawlessly on Leica SL.

I have the Leica cable release for my SL3. It’s pricey but works fine. I’ve seen it used at Leica Store Miami for about half price. If I ever need another one that’s where I would look first.

That's good to know - from the SL3 manual the socket looks different.

Is this the remote you're referring to?
