I'm receiving the Nocti 0.95 today.

I'm going to test it with a B+W XS Pro ND Vario 1.-5 MRC progressive filter to use it wide open in sunlight (with the SL2-S).
Do you have any tips on filter density that you would use? Thanks for any advice.

(I've read a few old topics on the subject, and I'd like some fresh news)

Have a nice day.

Thats a coincidence.
I am expecting my 0.95 Nocti tomorrow and will use it on a M10-R and mainly on a SL2.
As the electronically shutter of the SL2 is down to 1/16000th of a sec, I am wondering if a ND Filter is needed at all in sunlight.
Maybe somebody can give some advise here?

I received the lens a few hours ago and tested it immediately. Because I didn't check correctly my settings (so happy, so in a hurry !) I was on A mode and auto iso, the camera did its settings according to the light. I used the filter to stay in a best isos exposure to avoid grain. I still have some settings to do on the camera for best focus.

The response of the camera looks to be the same on M mode.

I will check mode P to watch what happens.

(Maybe some Nocti's users think I am a bit crazy for testing all the available modes)

The frame is very clear. No vignetting at 0.95 (or I don't see it in my tests), of course lack of contrast wide open. The DOF is very smooth and creamy, but every body knows that after reading reviews everywhere on the Net. That's the main reason why we buy this lens...

The main regret is to focus at only one meter minimum.

I received my 0.95 as well todays but I will not be able to test it the coming days….

Thanks. You can also read my other topic above about SL2-S and Nocti on M or A mode...

What I can tell you is that in low or high lights I can move the filter to adjust the light and the response of the camera.
