So, here's a hypothetical for y'all. Given the choice would anyone have preferred to see a Q3 50 with a f/1.4 Summilux lens rather than the Q3 43 APO?

Just putting it out there...

😉

Nope

The images rendered with the 43 f2 APO are outstanding, unless the AF was improved I wouldn’t want to be shooting with a wider aperture.

Agreed, the 43 APO is awesome, but the option of using a Summilux wide open in manual focus could have been very tempting.

Cake and eat it, I guess?

You're preaching to the converted.

I used M cameras professionally for many years, but unfortunately a serious eye condition has meant I can no longer reliably focus the rangefinders. I'd also now miss many features that are part and parcel of modern EVF bodies.

I have both 28 and 43, though use 43 very little. The difference in focal length is too small to merit the 43, in my opinion, as cropping possibilities are extreme. To merit a new Q3, in my opinion, focal length should be double of 28, make a 58 and I will be the first to get it.
