epand56 Posted January 20 Share #1 Posted January 20 Advertisement (gone after registration) The new Lightroom is completely different from the previous versions. It's more like an app for the phone than one for the computer. Would like to know the opinion of Lightroom users: do you find it better or worst? Why? What you like and what you don't? Thank you for your feedback.
Advertisement Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Hi epand56, Take a look here New Lightroom Release. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
PhotoCruiser Posted January 20 Share #2 Posted January 20 (edited) What Lightroom version? Lightroom CC or Lightroom Classic? I use exclusively Lightroom Classic, the last version 14.1.1 and i don't understand what you mean with "app for phone" as LR Classic is basically same as LR Classic V1 but obviously with much more functions. If you have the Adobe Photographers Package you should have both LR CC and LR Classic, and if you write about LightRoom CC then i suggest you to install Lightroom Classic what is the local storage version. LocalHero1953 Posted January 20 Share #3 Posted January 20 Same here: no change to Lightroom Classic that I can see (Mac v 14.1.1). Lightroom CC seems much the same as well. I suspect the OP opened Lightroom CC by accident.
Jeff S Posted January 20 Share #4 Posted January 20 Confusion often comes from the naming. Many still seem to use the CC designation, while Adobe apparently dropped it, and distinguishes Lightroom (mobile) from Lightroom Classic. https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom-classic/lightroom-cc-vs-lightroom-classic.html

Lightroom CC runs on phones, tablets and computers. If you commonly find yourself wanting to edit on all of those devices it's nice to have (roughly) the same editing experience. Lightroom Classic runs on computers. It is (roughly) the same app that I started using back in the version 5 days. It does a hell of a lot more than back then, though. It also does more than Lightroom CC. I'm guessing you were using an ancestor of LrC (C for Classic) then tried Lr (the mobile friendly version). There is nothing stopping you from using both. On the rare occasions I use a tablet for editing I use Lr. When I get home I import the image plus edits into LrC. The biggest difference may not be the editing tools, but the location of the catalog. Lr -> in the adobe cloud. LrC -> on your hard disk.
