Beautiful photo you shared on the cabins. I also had this issue when I bought my camera. Battery only lasting, in warm days, 7-10 clicks. Weird sensor artifacts, Sad. I bought a new battery, expensive, but so worth it. Works like charm. Funny thing, when battery is about to die, and I take multiple shots, buffering is doing its thing, I get multiple white pixels, really gimics dust on film.

Cold is no problem. I used the camera outside in Switserland when hiking and skiing, 6 to 8 hours long, freezing, no battery change needed. (Here Elmarit 21mm/M9 Monochrom, the Original)

(No problem: well, some lenses can't cope with the moist that later comes inside... if they are prone to Schneideritis; It cost me a favourite 28mm lens. And Leica Service might want to replace the internal contacts too if they get the camera in their hands. . . )

Hi ! I had exactly the same problem on a beach in Thailand so temperature is not the issue. It happened a couple for times, and at that time I suspected the SD card. But I have used the same card on another M8 with no issue. I would say it is probably a problem with the body but I would not bother too much if it is not frequent.
