harleybob Posted January 16 Share #1 Posted January 16 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got my new Q2 Monochrom. I have had all kinds of Leica branded bags for 40 years but now I just prefer a nice sling bag since I no longer carry a lot of bodies and lenses...just my Q2 a spare battery and the charger. And....I may want a nice rope stap....what do you like? Thank you, Harley

Denebola Posted January 16 Share #2 Posted January 16 I own several models, but the best (by far) for me is the Wotancraft Pilot (different sizes, from 2L to 10L). Extremely innovative smart design and functionality (better than any other, IMHO). As alternative, other possibilities are the Think Tank Turnstyle and the Peak Design 3L (my favourite among these is the Think Tank, which exists in several sizes, but Wotancraft is much better anyway). Rope strap: my favourites are the hand made Italian by Luigi Cases: look for "Silky" recurrence in https://luigicases.com/a000-STRAPS-page.htm . Much more stylish and crafted than any other (these one are slightly different from the mass of round straps. Hope this helps! Den
thenick512 Posted January 17 Share #3 Posted January 17 (edited) I really like clever design stuff. I have a few straps from them with Peak Design anchors and I really like their SideKick Pro Bag. It’s just large enough for a Q3 and a battery. One of the things that I like most about it is the customer service. They are a small company and do a great job I can’t say any bad things about them at all. If I want to take an iPad mini with me and still want a small carry I really like the peak design outdoor sling 2l with small camera cube in it. inlikeflynt56 Posted March 31 Share #9 Posted March 31 (edited) Hi, late to the party. I was using a Peak Everyday Sling 3L for my OG Q, and just recently got the Wontancraft Pilot 2L for my Q2M. Between the two, I like the Wotancraft for portability but its a really snug fit. The pockets are pretty much useless when the camera is inside but there are molly loops for external pouches. The Peak however has more room for stuff like a couple of filters and memory cards, the charger would be questionable. I can insert the camera sideways or lens down as well. Tarekith Posted March 31 Share #10 Posted March 31 Thanks for that. I use a 3L PD sling too but was eyeing the Pilot 2L to maybe slim things down even more. Sounds like it's a little TOO slim if you also want to carry a battery, card, small rocket blower, etc.

I use a 3L PD sling too but was eyeing the Pilot 2L FWIW, I bought the tan color Wotancraft 2L Pilot (bought sight unseen) and found it a bit too small for a Q(3) camera, even without an add-on grip. There is a bar under some nylon trim on the lip of the opening that kept getting in the way of easily (quickly) pulling the camera out. It will however (very snugly)hold a Q camera, battery, extra cards and microfiber cloth. The 3L (seen at a Leica store) would easily work but seemed a bit deep. I ended up using a Domke F-5XB bag. simon@ Posted April 1 Share #13 Posted April 1 I'm thrilled with my new "combo" for my Q3 43: the Artisan & Artist ACAM-301N strap and the Barbarossa bag from Bedouin Foundry, which I've had for years. (My previous gear didn’t fit in it) What a pleasure to have just one camera body and one lens! It might feel limiting at first, but I humbly feel that it forces me to think more… and it’s so easy to carry around! 😊

chris_tribble Posted April 2 Share #15 Posted April 2 Lowe Pro Passport Sling III. Inexpensive if you look around, and really really practical: https://www.lowepro.com/uk-en/passport-sling-iii-black-lp36657-0ww/

paulpowici Posted April 2 Share #17 Posted April 2 I use both a Wandrd Rogue 6L sling and a VSGO 3L sling. The VSGO is great for just the camera, but if you want to carry a charger etc as well the 6L is probably better.
Mikep996 Posted April 2 Share #18 Posted April 2 The original Leica nylon strap is, IMO, the best camera strap ever made and I use them on all my cameras. Apparently they don't make them anymore. I tried quite a few aftermarket straps on my M's and my Q2 at various times and found all of them to be either too bulky or too stiff which actually impaired using the camera. Frankly, the nylon Leica strap with its unique, very easy to use connectors, seems to me to have been designed by someone who used a camera all day. The expensive aftermarket straps seem designed by "designers" whose goal was to look elegant/expensive at the expense of function.
Ad Dieleman Posted April 3 Share #19 Posted April 3 I use the leather strap included with the Q3: no dangling anchors, things that can scratch, no nothing and the length fits me perfectly. I even use it as a wrist-strap by folding it. As a bag I use the Think Tank Turnstyle 10 V2. Alongside the Q3 I carry an Anker 10 Ah powerbank, X-rite Colorchecker Passport, some small stuff and sometimes sandwiches in the main compartment; the side pocket has room for 2 spare batteries, SD card holder, iPods, ND filter, microfibre cloth etc. I also have the Turnstyle 5 which is unusably small and the Turnstyle 20 which fits a Sony A7R4 with a few lenses, up to the Sony 4/70-200 (old model) or the Q3 and the A7R4 with a Zeiss Batis 1.8/85 and stuff.
