Linus84 Posted January 12 Share #1 Posted January 12 Advertisement (gone after registration) One "quirk" or parhaps "working as designed" part of the camera is the auto ISO defaulting to ISO 200 instead of 100 if there is enough light? Do anyone else have this peculiarity? Can't seem to find and setting to change this.
Advertisement Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Hi Linus84, Take a look here D-Lux 8 - Auto ISO defaults at 200 minimum?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Einst_Stein Posted January 14 Share #2 Posted January 14 (edited) It is expandable to 100. All Leica M43 are like this, including DLux 7 and 109. M 240 also has base ISO 200. In fact, Leica SL has dual base ISO, 50 and 200. It seems today's sensor does not make much difference between ISO 100 and 200. But if it is expandable to 50, ISO 50 would have less contrast. AFAIK, low base ISO allows more head room in shadow while high base ISO allows more head room in highlight. Linus84 Posted January 18 Author Share #3 Posted January 18 Thank you! In other words, it’s working as designed and choosing the best “value”.
