markc2 Posted January 3 Share #1 Posted January 3 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All, One of the photo's I took made the cover of a small-town newspaper where I live. I sent it in, and it was picked. Didn't know it would be used for the cover. So, yea more pixels are great and all don't let that overshadow what this camera is still capable of. Leica M8.2/135mm Hektor. Going to have fun picking up copies for myself 🙂 This is a screen shot of their Digital edition. Welcome, dear visitor! LocalHero1953 Posted January 3 Share #2 Posted January 3 I photograph amateur theatre, distributing images to theatre companies and actors via online Adobe Lightroom Collections, which allow JPG downloads at around 2000 pixels on the long edge (<3mp) - more than good enough for online use and printing in programme booklets. The theatre has permission to use my images in the large posters hung around their premises. I have told them time and time again to just ask me for the full res images as TIFFs (typically 24mp from the SL2-S), but they keep using the downloadable JPGs. I am always surprised how well they have printed, even at just 2000 pixels on the long edge.

People forget that a 4K TV which is pretty much the standard now for high def TV and is pretty much where the M8 is at. Congratulations as well! Sound's like a fun and challenging thing to do with your photography as well!! A toast to the M8 in 2025

How do you frame with a 135 on an M8, do you use the focus patch, or do you have any other tricks?

I just take the rangefinder and make an imaginary tick tack toe game board, but instead of squares I use the rangefinder box as my center and grow the game board around it. So far that works really well for me. Edited January 4 by markc2

I use the focus patch too, but the 135 frame is a little larger than the patch, I have never been upset with a little extra on the image.
