Azure78 Posted December 24, 2024 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello~ I recently purchased a summaron f2.8 black repainted lens. And I mounted the lens on the m11 That is, it cannot measure exposure. Even when I turn on live view, it is just a black screen. It looks like the lens cap is on. So the exposure value is measured with the lens cap on. I have been using old lenses with LTM attached and they have not had this problem with any of my lenses. However, I have Monochrome 246 and M7, so I tried attaching the Summaron, and it measures the exposure accurately. This is probably the reason why the metering method changed from the M11. Ah! my summaron was repainted black, even the mount part. Is this why it's like this? I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this issue and has any ideas on how to fix it. Thank you and Merry Christmas! Edited December 24, 2024 by Azure78
Advertisement Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Hi Azure78, Take a look here Are there any cases where exposure metering doesn't work with certain lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Evan-Liu Posted December 25, 2024 Share #2 Posted December 25, 2024 Would you like to try turning off the dust protection function first? It’s possible that the M11 isn’t recognizing the lens and is closing the shutter for dust protection. Welcome, dear visitor!
