Thomas Scheier Posted December 24, 2024 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) HELLO D8Lux users. Anybody knows why if one chooses JPEG in FILE Format and the camera is turned OFF, the next time one switches the camera ON, File Format has gone back to DNG+JPEG? What if you want to use JPEG only? Thank you and Happy X-mas and New Year. Thomas

adan Posted December 25, 2024 Share #3 Posted December 25, 2024 Make sure you actually complete the selection before turning the camera off. After choosing "JPG" - you may need to press "Set" again, or "Menu" (see Manual) - to CONFIRM you really wanted to make that change. I don't have the Dlux8 myself - but Leica menus in my general experience are very prone to "failing safe" - if the new choice is NOT affirmatively confirmed by an additional button-press of some kind, the firmware discards the change. (Time settings, date settings - all behave that way). As does a lot of soft/firmware these days - "Are you SURE you want to Quit?"..."Are you SURE you want to discard your changes?"..."Are you SURE you want to Delete this picture?"
