Hi guys

I‘ve just ordered a brand new SL2-S (huge price drop at my hometown dealer 😉 ) and would like to pair it with some of my old R-Lenses. Thought I had been well prepared when expecting something in the price range of the M-L adapter but the reality was kind of a shock to me (Leica R-L 800€ 😱).

Are there any good reasons to go for the Leica Version or would a Novoflex / Urth / …. adapter also do the trick?  Any advice is highly appreciated!

Thanks
Daniel

Some R lenses are heavy, so there can be a benefit to getting an adapter with a tripod foot, to give better balance. I had a R-M adapter that I paired with the M-L adapter I already had. I recently sold the R-M adapter (t=with tripod foot) for about £140, so you might want to look out for a used copy of either R-M or R-L.

Hi I am using the Urth adapters and they are working very well. They actually allow PASM selection although you can’t actually use some auto functionality the S mode is the one I use most. The Leica one I had only did M mode and was so expensive. I am using old manual lenses of course. Hope this helps. I bought via Amazon Prime so that I could test out first!
