o2mpx Posted December 3, 2024 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Curious to know if anyone has feedback on the latest crop of Sigma APS-C zooms vs the Leica native zooms mounted on a CL? The 11-23, 55-135, 18-56 must be at least 5+ years older than the Sigmas, and the latter seemed to have received good marks of late on their full frame L mount zooms; perhaps their APS-C range is strong also? Advertisement Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Hi o2mpx, Take a look here Original Leica APS-C zooms vs Current Sigma APS-C zooms. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mokona Posted December 3, 2024 Share #2 Posted December 3, 2024 I had the sigma 18-50 f2.8: was soft. Didn't use it much.
tommonego@gmail.com Posted December 4, 2024 Share #3 Posted December 4, 2024 The Leica 11-23 is a superior lens, as I have heard about the 55-135 it is too. The 18-56 is a decent lens. The 18 to 50 Sigma is attractive as it is a fixed f2.8, as long as it performs well.
Le Chef Posted December 4, 2024 Share #4 Posted December 4, 2024 I still happily use my 11-23, 18-56, and 55-135 and see no reason to change them for something newer.
Gregm61 Posted December 4, 2024 Share #5 Posted December 4, 2024 I went crazy on this system, buying a CL back in 2020 and, eventually, every native lens offered by Leica; all of which I still own and use today, in addition to adapting all sorts of Leica/Voigtlander M mount lenses. There are tradeoffs one has to consider, especially using the 55-135mm zoom, regarding lens speed/lack of stabilization, etc, but all of the available native TL lenses, zooms and primes, are really quite good; some exceptional. I’ll be using the CL at the end of December with the 11-23 and 23-35-60mm primes, to shoot a family members’ wedding.
