robgo2 Posted November 28, 2024 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am unable to use an SF 26 flash on my CL. When the flash is mounted and turned on, the rear LCD panel shows the lightning bolt with a / on it, meaning that the flash is recognized but essentially non-functional. I have gone into the Main Menu/Flash settings and set it both to Auto and On, but doing so has no effect. Notably, the same SF 26 works perfectly on my Q2 cameras. Has anyone experienced this problem with a CL or any other Leica camera? Is there a solution that doesn't involve more than a simple repair?

Gregm61 Posted November 29, 2024 Share #2 Posted November 29, 2024 (edited) The lightening bolt with the A is auto flash and the one on-body setting where the camera could decide to not fire a mounted, turned on flash. You need the lightening bolt with no "A" (page 97 of the manual) where the camera will fire the flash if it is mounted and turned on, no matter what. mokona Posted November 29, 2024 Share #3 Posted November 29, 2024 Also I think flash is supposed to work only with mechanical shutter (or leaf shutter for the Q2), so if you are using electronic shutter with the CL, the flash won't trigger
