I am looking for an adapter for the leica-r 28-90/2.8-4.5 vario elmarit-r asph. I use Nikon with many R lenses, with full satisfaction, mounting a simple adapter: six screws and I change the bayonet (a photo repairman does it....) I had an opportunity, but there is a problem: I can't find an R adapter that is suitable for this lens. I ask the forum members...... Thanks

If I remember correcty, the capacity for free back-focal distance with the  Nikon mount is very limited, which is why you must actually attach a Nikon type lens mount directly on a Leica lens, rather than a free standing adapter. Also if I recall correctly, a company called Leitax made such mounts to swap on the Leica lens, which sounds like what you have had done. But I've also got a vague recollection that the 28-90 R zoom had some differences from some other Leica lenses, which meant that the latter's mount change wouldn't fit. I think Leitax later offered an in-house custom service for ROM equipped R zoom lenses, of which yours is an example.

Looking at the site, it appears that you might have to send in the lens for them to do the conversion for you.

I looked at the Leitax website but there is no adapter for the 28-90 R. Or I can't find it..... There is an adapter that has 10 holes. I don't think it's good. Here: https://www.leitax.com/leica-lens-for-nikon-cameras.html To all a ...thank you

As my pervious post implied, I think it's not at all a DIY job, which is why they don't offer an adapter to buy for yourself to mount. But (at least at one point) I think they did offer a "reversible" conversion service for Leitax themselves to do.
