nilufar Posted January 2, 2008 Share #1 Â Posted January 2, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought the R-9 DMR January 2006 and it continuously broke down on me (shutter wouldn't work, the camera wouldn't switch on, my light meter would over expose my images). After 6 months of battling with the camera and going back and forth to Leica here in London, they replaced it with a new body and reinstalled the 1.2 firmware. Â Now one year on with the new camera, again it has broken down on me. I have to press the shutter twice to wind the camera on and the light meter is once again faulty, the battery life now depletes after half an hour so I have to constantly recharge batteries during shoots. Also it doesn't sync up with the flash units (elinchromes). Â I have remained a faithful ally to Leica for the past 20 years and moved to digital so I could keep using my amazing lenses but now am absolutely at my wits end as the DMR is so unreliable......ALL ADVICE more than welcome. Shall I sell it all and move to Canon...? Nilu

hdg Posted January 3, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted January 3, 2008 Hi Nilu, Â an extremly bad situation. But if Leica can`t help who shall do it. Under these conditions my only advice is to hope for a better R10. Sorry for your problems. Â Regards Hans, since 2 1/2 years happy with his R9-DMR-combo
