Advertisement Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Hi tamboalex, Take a look here Q3 with the Leica SF 40 flash. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
coleica Posted November 19, 2024 Share #2 Posted November 19, 2024 Are you using manual or TTL? Using it for night shooting or fill-in work? When using TTL I often find myself underexposing by one stop. Manual is trial and error until you start to develop a gut feeling for the proper exposure. You can always step away from the subject and crop as necessary in post-processing. I am still learning how to use flash.

Alexmart Posted December 11, 2024 Share #4 Posted December 11, 2024 Hi, I had the same problem as you did with the Q3 and SF40. Flash pics using TTL mode were also over exposed 1-1.5 stops. After reviewing the first few shots, I manually reduced flash exposure 1-2 stops, which solved the problem. I wrote to Lecia to find out why I had to make this adjustment, as I wondered why the TTL mode wouldn't expose for a properly lighted shot. Customer support wrote back and told me that I was probably using the highlighted weighted metering mode, which I believe was correct. Perhaps this is your situation as well. If that's not the case, you can then manually reduced flash exposure on the flash unit until you have correct exposure. Hopefully either of these suggestions works for you. Good luck
