LegacyGlassBlast Posted November 14, 2024 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) TLDR: Hoping someone can lend insight into why my SL2-S won’t auto-identify my 80mm R Summilux w ROM when using my Leica R to L adapter I have an SL2-S that is currently running the most recent firmware update 6.0 When I attach my 28mm M Elmarit via the Leica M to L adapter the camera appropriately identifies the lens and adjusts the focal length settings on screen. However when I mount my 80mm R Summilux with ROM contacts via the Leica R To L adapter (which has ROM connectivity) the SL2-S does not identify the lens (reads “unknown lens”) and I then need to enter the lens manually. I looked online for an adapter firmware upgrade thinking that could be the remedy but couldn’t locate one. Does anyone know whether the R to L adapter requires firmware updates in order to properly ID ROM R lenses? Does anyone know of anny other suggestions to get my adapter identifying ROM lenses appropriately? FWIW this is my only R lens with ROM so I can’t test whether other R ROM lenses are identified appropriately.
