iOS issues (16 pro 18.1)

I’m not big on fancy tech features on cameras, which is what got me to my M10r in the first place. But I do appreciate the option to download pictures on the road to my phone via the Fotos app for a quick edit and sending it to people if need be. 
This worked great with my iPhone 12pro on a prior version of iOS. Thanks to a dead battery I moved to a current 16pro yesterday and moved over my apps and data. 
Now the Fotos app is not working. It opens to a black screen and that’s it. The camera connects to the phone via WiFi if I initiate that via the WiFi menu. Doesn’t help. 
Anyone else run into this? 
 

I’m reluctant deleting and reinstalling the app as it’s tied to data in the background.

Surely even if you Delete the App, the info will remain in the cloud' once you again login..  That's been my experience..

Problem solved. I had to delete it and reinstall after a reboot. Now it works, data was still there after logging back in. Needed to add the camera again.

Same happened to me, thanks to your post another tech hurdle is behind me. I only got this phone to pair with the M11 when I get it so was a bit fed up, tech, 🙄
