Advertisement Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Hi Einst_Stein, Take a look here Your favorite Kodak E100 now is sold in 400ft bulk roll for ~$160. About $8 per 135 36-exp if you bulk load DIY.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stray cat Posted November 12, 2024 Share #2 Posted November 12, 2024 (edited) ?? B&H lists the 35mm 400' can at $650 and not available online. At $160 it would be a no-brainer - but at 4X that much? Buying a 36-shot roll at $22 seems cheap in comparison. Edited November 12, 2024 by stray cat

But if you think $22 per roll is cheap, I have no problem.

Well in your original post you worked out that cutting a 400' bulk roll that cost $160 into 36-exposure rolls would work out at $8 per roll. However cutting that same bulk roll at what looks like its actual price of $650 (ie roughly 4X $160) would price those 36-shot rolls at 4 X $8 which equals $32. So, yeah, while not cheap, which by the way I never said, $22 would be cheap by comparison, as $22 is by my calculation cheaper than $32. If I am missing something here, please let me know. Ah, that part of words are supposed to be deleted. It is $650/400ft, and about $8/36-exp.
stray cat Posted November 12, 2024 Share #6 Posted November 12, 2024 Oh, Ok - then it reverts back to almost being a no-brainer! Thanks for clarifying that. Only slight problem being getting to New York to pick up in-store from Melbourne, Australia.

Anbaric Posted November 12, 2024 Share #10 Posted November 12, 2024 I just checked the current UK pricing, and E100 generally goes for £25-30 for 135-36, though a major retailer is now selling it for £39 ($50 USD)! But one small company is offering 100D respooled as 135-36 for just £14 a roll. The official Ektachrome pricing really does look like price gouging by Alaris, which I can't imagine will improve now that it is run by a bunch of vulture capitalists. I would just buy the 400ft bulk roll and roll it myself.
