Leica lens hood for other camera models?

Hi everyone,

does anyone know if this lens hood also fits to other lenses with 49mm size or to Q2/Q3 only?

Yes, this €250 hood should fit any lens with a 49mm filter thread (as would a €10 hood from ebay that does the same job). You would need to test the hood to see how effective it is (a longer lens than the one on the Q3 might benefit from a longer hood, while a wider lens might vignette with this one). Leica's dedicated hoods are obviously designed for the specific lenses they are paired with, so they are guaranteed to work well.

That hood has (what looks like about) a 60mm "reverse" thread (i.e. female) like the hood that comes with the Q3.  A hood that screws into a 49mm "typical" filter thread on a lens would have a "male" thread pattern.  I doubt (but do not know for certain) if there are any other lenses besides the Q series that can use that hood without an adaptor (such as an appropriate sized (if available) macro coupler "male to male" ring) and then possible needing a step down ring.  Not sure it would be worth all that trouble.

Almost certainly Q2/Q3 only.  I am not aware of any other lens that has the same lens hood thread as the Q2/Q3.

If you don't already own a Q2 or Q3 it may be confusing; as the Q lenses has TWO threads - one to attach filter (49mm) and the other to attach hood (bigger than 49mm).  These hoods do NOT attach using the Q2/Q3's 49mm filter thread.  If you have a different, random lens with 49mm filter thread only, don't buy that hood.... it will not work.
