Einst_Stein Posted October 29, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) A friend asked any reason to buy M10-R instead of SL2. From the paper specs, SL2 has more capable features and the used price is about half. To me it is RF vs Mirrorless, more of taste, style, and emotional factors, but for people not attach to M, the consideration could be more rational and objective. What would you say? Advertisement Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Hi Einst_Stein, Take a look here M10-r vs SL2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
benqui Posted October 29, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 29, 2024 The M is emotion, the SL-2 is rational To me the 10-R is the best digital M. Technically mature, reliable and (sorry to all SL users) much more beautiful. But of course from the technical point of view, the SL-2 is much better. You want to take photos with a rangefinder without the modern electronic features around it. That's all. That's enough.
LocalHero1953 Posted October 29, 2024 Share #4 Posted October 29, 2024 I can't think of any image-related reason that is relevant. For me it would come down to AF vs MF, EVF vs OVF, size & weight, shutter priority exposure (if I want it), OIS (and IBIS in some lenses), video. The M might be relevant from say 15-135mm, of you need less or more, it’s the SL.
Jeff S Posted October 29, 2024 Share #6 Posted October 29, 2024 I have both, and most often use the M10 Monochrom. All three capable cameras, for different shooting experiences and circumstances. Whatever suits one’s style and needs. Jeff
wda Posted October 29, 2024 Share #7 Posted October 29, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) As eyes age, framing is more precise with an EVF.
Einst_Stein Posted October 29, 2024 Author Share #8 Posted October 29, 2024 (edited) My heart want M10-R, but my brain want SL2. I think for new comers, SL2 will win. Edited October 29, 2024 by Einst_Stein
