S Maclean Posted October 29, 2024 Share #1  Posted October 29, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was testing today the sl3 and some new setups for a possible shoot soon.  Not having a model at hand I tethered and sat in front of the camera as subject.  I the problem I had with focus modes happened both tethering with cable and through WiFi to an iPad. Becasue I was model a photographer I set the focus mode to body/face, hoping that it would make it much easier and I could focus on the light placement and composition with some degree of freedom.  The problem is, Once i set it up, and after a couple of captured I noticed all the shots being blurry…so i checked and focus modes was back to field.  So I changed it again and it worked….until it switched itself back. i tried re-staring the camera, re-setting the tethering, changing profiles and re-entering parameters…nothing, it kept doing it. Anyone has any possible explanation or fix for this? Thank you  S

Photoworks Posted October 29, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted October 29, 2024 You are probably using the FOTOS app once you tap on the screen the focusing app switches to field, and face is no longer the option. There are many limitations in the FOTOS app. If that is important to you try using Capture One on the iPad, you have more setting available and you can still use face/body AF
