G19 Posted October 12, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I normally remove the SD card from the camera and use the card reader slot on the back of the iMac to transfer the images via Apple's Image Capture app. Since upgrading to the new Sequoia when a card is inserted into the iMac, Image Capture just keeps flashing the images on and off the screen and then does not see them at all. If I use a normal card read I can access the files and drag the DCIM folder onto the desktop. Before I could also import the photos into an Apple Photos library on an external drive but having the same issue, will see the images but keeps flashing on and off and after three attempts just stops. I suspect it's a software issue with Apple reading the files, have formatted the card in the camera but still no joy. Anyone else having the same issue - did a search and could not find anything. Cogito Posted October 12, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2024 This appears to be an unsolved issue, no answer so far but thank you for giving a heads up not to upgrade yet.

Good Luck.... Typically, Apple is very good of blocking upgrades if the new OS is not compatible with your hardware. At least, it has been my experience. G19 Posted October 14, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted October 14, 2024 I’m not having any issues with my iMac running Sequoia 15.1 OS, which is compatible according to the list and has been updated. However, I'm experiencing a problem with reading SD cards. Whether using the rear slot or a USB hub, I can only access files through Disk Utility by locating the folder with the images and dragging them to the desktop. It’s possible that my iMac has a hardware issue with the rear card reader, but the problem persists with a USB card reader as well.
Tgd Posted October 27, 2024 Share #7 Posted October 27, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the exact same problem with an M1 MacbookPro. I reported to Apple... And when I connect the Q3 to the Mac in USB, the connection is established at 480 Mb/s instead of 10 Gb/s... This is clearly an Apple USB bug !
