phdezra Posted October 7, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I want to put a Black Pro Mist (1/4) on my Leica Q3 43 (due to arrive shortly). Do I need an adapter, or will my existing Tiffen (don't knock the quality) 49mm BPM filter screw right in? (I am aware this would prevent macros--so I assume no macros whilst this is on; nor will the regular hood work. But what about the round vented one?). Anyone? TY. (I believe it should screw right on--need confirmation. TY!) Ez Edited October 7, 2024 by phdezra
Advertisement Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Hi phdezra, Take a look here Filter question: Will any 49mm filter fit on Q3 43 (I am awaiting arrival), or do I need adapter?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Roy88 Posted October 7, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 7, 2024 You should have no problems using your filter with or without the lens hood. I regularly use a 49mm B+W polarizer with the lens hood attached. The lens hood goes on an outer thread while your filter screws on the inner thread just like any other camera lens. mcqinternational Posted October 7, 2024 Share #3 Posted October 7, 2024 Any 49mm I have fuji x100 on mine and a 3rd Party lens hood round to use macro from amazon at £45 .
Likaleica Posted October 8, 2024 Share #4 Posted October 8, 2024 Plenty of discussion about this on the internet. With the Q3 43, you cannot use most filters with the supplied lens hood. It has to be ultra thin (B+W Titanium), and even those will not allow macro mode. You can use any filters with the round hood.
