AnnieP Posted October 7, 2024 Share #1  Posted October 7, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a CFe and a SD card in my SL3. Firmware is 1.19. Storage options are set to CFe + SD. With this option the manual states that "files are saved to CFe first, until capacity is reached. Subsequent files will then be saved to SD". I've never exceeded the capacity of my CFe card, so have never had to deal with switching from one card to the other. Today, the CFe became full. There was no notification or anything that anything was not normal.  The camera allowed me to continue shooting but there is nothing on the SD card. Nothing! Apparently it did not switch over to SD. What could have happened and what can I do to prevent this from recurring? Is there some other setting I am unaware of?? A little ill right now for all the lost shots. Appreciate any input. Many thanks.
Advertisement Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Hi AnnieP, Take a look here SOS! Lost pictures when switching from CFe to SD??. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
AnnieP Posted October 7, 2024 Author Share #2 Â Posted October 7, 2024 OK. Operator error. The camera started a new folder and I didn't see it. Everything is there! Catastrophe averted. Thank goodness!
LocalHero1953 Posted October 7, 2024 Share #3 Â Posted October 7, 2024 As a risk averse person I download all my photos at the end of a day and preferably after a shoot if I am out more than once. I am curious why you don't do the same: a CFe card, full and not backed up, is an awful lot of images at risk.
AnnieP Posted October 7, 2024 Author Share #4  Posted October 7, 2024 Trust me, I download ALL photos at the end of the day to my computer. I just don't delete them from the CFe until I get home and have double-checked everything. Even once I have multiple copies of everything, I hate to delete them!
