irenedp Posted September 25, 2024 Share #1 Posted September 25, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the option to buy a new M9 body -a Monochrom- in good condition and from a reputable source, but with a relatively high shutter count (around 20,000). When I got my M9 in 2020 it had about 5,000 and the M10r a little more than 1,000. Sensor was changed by Leica well after 2015 so have no worries there but wonder If they still have shutters in stock Otherwise I may want to wait for a less used one -which is not impossible-. Advertisement Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 Hi irenedp, Take a look here Does Leica still replace M9 shutters?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
3D-Kraft.com Posted September 25, 2024 Share #2 Posted September 25, 2024 I don't know, if they still can replace it, but "around 20K" shots would not worry me. It should do 50K at least and there are samples out there with already 150k.

Why do you think you will need one? Shutter will be good for at least 100k+ cycles, after which the general condition of camera may not be economic to repair, remembering that Leica would not do a single item repair but would insist on a total refurbishment.
