Advertisement Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Hi happymac, Take a look here M8 body - rev. 2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted August 27, 2006 Share #2 Â Posted August 27, 2006 Unfortunately that LC-1 shutter dial won't cut it - we already know the M8 goes to 1/8000. Â Looks nice, though. I do hope they did the mini-LCD thing for exposure counting.
marknorton Posted August 27, 2006 Share #3 Â Posted August 27, 2006 I like the LCD as well, though this example seems to suggest a program exposure mode which won't be possible because the camera will not know the shooting aperture. The exposure counter would presumably count down to zero, would need at least 3 digits. Tiny digits though, difficult for old duffers like me to read. Â Would need to be backlit. Perhaps that's what the blue dot is for! To switch on the LCD backlight when it gets dark, a bit like switching on your headlights automatically... Â Like the spot/centre weighted metering option too - see Andy's comments elsewhere on metering.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted August 27, 2006 Share #4 Â Posted August 27, 2006 Are we talking about that blue reflection. Looks to me like a coated piece of glass that is reflecting the light.
marknorton Posted August 27, 2006 Share #5 Â Posted August 27, 2006 No, I was referring to the mysterious blue dot which was posted on the pictures from RFF which by common consent seems to be an ambient light sensor for WB but since the pictures were likely fakes, it's all noise and web-babble anyway... rosuna Posted August 27, 2006 Share #6 Â Posted August 27, 2006 I don't like the LCD screens. The main LCD can do the two things: review of pictures in full color mode; and direct control of basic parameters in low-consumption monochrome mode. The physical controls (wheels, knobs...) provide direct information of the most important parameters, and the finder can show this information too. I don't want the same information repeated again in a LCD monochrome screen.
mat_mcdermott Posted August 27, 2006 Share #7 Â Posted August 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yeah, nice try, but you forgot to remove the little bump on the front right side of the camera that now is the rewind switch. Looks nice though. I hope the top script is maintained on the real M8.
Goldie Posted August 27, 2006 Share #8 Â Posted August 27, 2006 Smart shot but it doesn't add up. Let's face it we are not going to see it and be able to believe it until Leica draw back the curtains! By the way the eyepiece is set back too far; it would be especially grim for left eye users. leicapfile Posted August 27, 2006 Share #9 Â Posted August 27, 2006 Eureaka! Â "P50-1.4-2000" Â Is that what the lens codings are for? Â Jerry
