Will the Reporter edition replace the Safari moving forward?

Always wanted one of the Safari cameras. I wonder if we will still get one with the M11.

Now that we have the D variant, what else could be coming when considering the past?

Traditional variants:

• Safari
• Reporter (would love this to come in the D variant without the rear screen this time)
• Black Paint (gloss on brass)

Less traditional:

• Anniversary
• White or Hodinkee
• LHSA
• ?

I'm guessing the most wanted of these will be the black paint.

Oddly enough Black Paint on Brass was the only finish offered for the M-D Typ-262.

Personally-speaking in addition to Gloss Black Paint I'd like to see the option of bog-standard Silver-Chrome. I quite liked the paint-colour used for the Lenny Kravitz 'Drifter' edition but not the gauche 'vegan-faux-python-skin' covering. A simple very dark-brown leather(-ette for the vegans) would have been a bit more tasteful IMO.

The white (slightly off-white) would look great. Interesting that they are holding certain leathers for special editions; I inquired at my local Leica Store (where they do the leather install inhouse) if they could order the Aramid cover from the Reporter to install but they said no….yiu can only choose what is featured online from Customer Care. Btw- if you have white leather installed on your upcoming camera… you can’t use it after Labor Day 😄(for you fashionista knowledgeable).
