AdamMark Posted September 12, 2024 Share #1  Posted September 12, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love my Q3 however I’m now hooked on Leica and wish to buy a rangefinder. The M11. I am at heart a 35mm F/L person. A brilliant F/L for street, daily life and the odd landscape. I am looking to buy the 35mm F2 M Asph APO lens which I anticipate keeping forever.  My 65th birthday present to myself I would be grateful if anybody who has this lens can comment on its :- Sharpness in the mid frame, edges and corners wide open and at F5.6 , F8 and F11 ? How it compares to the Q3 lens ? Thank you. Kind regards, Adam

pedaes Posted September 12, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted September 12, 2024 (edited) If you want a detailed review of this lens before spending a lot of money, I suggest you take a subscription to Sean Reids site, where you will find detailed reviews of this lens and the others you might consider. Also very good comparison review at Red Dot Forum - website and YouTube (free). Or you can take it as read that this lens excels, although I would strongly recommend not using it a f11 on a M11 for very sound technical reasons (confict of small appertures v high mp sensors) https://www.reidreviews.com/index.html Edited September 12, 2024 by pedaes
Pika898 Posted September 12, 2024 Share #3  Posted September 12, 2024 I had the Q2 before owning an APO 35 on the M11P. The APO 35 is in a different league and has essentially replace my need for an accompanying longer focal length. 60MP on the M11 with the APO gives plenty of flexibility for cropping without losing details.
