dallas-thumper Posted September 4, 2024 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello friends: I got my Q3 just last week and I noticed the camera makes a soft grinding noise when the setting is in AFc and the shutter button is half pressed to get focus. It does not do that when I use AFs. Is this normal? What you are hearing are the motors in the lens. Thank you! I thought this was a bit interesting since my Sony a7m3, a7R5, and the a7CR conduct their AFc focussing without any discernable sounds ... LOL In general, it's probably best that you don't compare the latest Sony AF with your Q3 .
