IF you have owned and abused (manually) the SL, then SL2 / SL2S, and now the SL3 - EVF questions for you.

I'm 75% manual focus and about 76% blind LOL...  I own S1 (5.76m), SL (4.4m), and TL2 with VisoFlex (2.3m).  I'm ALWAYS on the hunt for the better EVF.  I sold a kidney and bought the SL2S (assumed it was an S1 tweaked a bit in Leica clothing), as it was the natural next step from my SL.  I gave it back...  One of the biggest reasons was compared to the SL - the EVF was NOT as good for focusing (magnification).  I do NOT (Nought, Nope, nada) understand the specs - by the spec sheet both the S1 and the SL2S should have been BETTER than the SL - they are NOT.   And both should have destroyed the TL2 and the Visoflex - but in practice they do NOT...

So my question is this...  Anyone (who used the SL to manually focus fully magnified in the EVF) who moved onto the SL2 or 2s and then the SL3.  Is the SL3 any different vs the 2 or 2S.  Or really - if you shoot manual and used all three - am I missing something?

Part of the question is the constant frustration of AF.  Child at an amusement park - roller coaster - long lens - even with the S1 and its 6K photo trick - it's still a crap shoot.  I used to have an A7III - junk ergos sterile experience - but lots of hits on AF...  Recently I've noticed the new ones are touting that 9.4m EVF and wicked AF - so it draws my attention.  I'm not jumping ship (likely L mount for the rest of my days now) - just wondering how to look at the specs and actually understand.

Why is my SL easier to focus than the SL2S - heck for that matter the visoflex on the TL2 did a better job (albeit crop - but same thing).  I clearly do NOT know how to look at the specs and read them for comparison purposes...   Let me know if your experience differs...

The SL has the best EVF I have used. It’s the largest in size as well.

It lacks in contrast compared to the newer ones but I find it gives the clearest view overall which gives the best manual focus experience to date. I haven’t tried the latest Sony EVFs so I can’t compare to those.

I have experience with 4 cameras (SL, S1r, SL2-s, SL3). If the EVF is set to 120 fps, manual focus is nearly impossible. Set to 60 fps it is easy.
