spydrxx Posted September 24, 2024 Share #21 Posted September 24, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since you are already familiar with photography basics, something like the wallet exposure meter (AKA Andy's) can easily substitute for an electronic exposure meter. I've used a Gossen Luna-Pro, Andy's, and a more extensive cardboard one known as the Jiffy Calculator for years. They all work fine. I keep the Jiffy in my auto's glovebox, when I remember, a copy of Andy's in my pocket. https://www.squit.co.uk/photo/files/ExposureCalculator.pdf The Jiffy can be a little harder to find, but well worth the effort...making it is quite easy. It was also commercially available and can often be found on the big auction site or in camera store bins. Both are merely enhanced versions of the Sunny 16 guidelines put into practice. Once you are familiar with the guidelines, especially if you do your own film processing, you rarely need even these tools to get on target exposures.
