Users William, let's hope they're users rather than collectors ;-)

Yes, my choice of words were not great (6:00AM here). Nobody collects digital cameras. :)

I meant buyers of course.

Geoff--

I agree. I think things are starting to firm up.

I think what bothers me is that the M8 is starting to look so "ordinary."

Nice drawings, by the way!

It should be noted that these are modified versions of Leica drawings. I basically played with the M7 outline to make it into an M8.

I think Luigi means that the new bottom plate is affixed to the camera and swings open 90° for access to the memory card and battery compartments.

Or else the lock knob rotates only 90° instead of the 180° we're used to on the M cameras.

Oh, gosh. We need a new discussion topic--R10, for example?

I mentioned that we had spent a lot of time trying to figure whether these M8, WiTri-Elmar & VF pics are genuine to a person who has reason to know.

His response: "They're genuine."

I wonder what the new digital CL will look like. :)

Thanks for the confirmation Howard.....on to the R10.....stuff the M8 guts into an R4 size body, upgrade the mirror, meter and finder to R9 levels....leak pictures.....sell cameras:cool:

Digital CM....stuff a 4/3rds sensor in, get rid of on board flash to make room for electronics, add rear elements to 40mm lens to get a 20mm....leak pictures...sell cameras...sell flash units separately:)

D-Lux-O series......take Pany's LX-2 back to 1928 by morphing the body to look like the O-Series...make the folding finder good for 28mm @ 16:9....leak pictures....hope Pany delivers:rolleyes:

I'll leave the CL to you.

Bob
