wbesz Posted August 28, 2006 Share #42 Posted August 28, 2006 Looking at the size of this thread, I guess there will be a lot of future M8 collectors!

wbesz Posted August 28, 2006 Share #44 Posted August 28, 2006 Users William, let's hope they're users rather than collectors ;-) Yes, my choice of words were not great (6:00AM here). Nobody collects digital cameras. I meant buyers of course.
geoff Posted August 28, 2006 Share #45 Posted August 28, 2006 Geoff--I agree. I think things are starting to firm up. I think what bothers me is that the M8 is starting to look so "ordinary." Nice drawings, by the way! It should be noted that these are modified versions of Leica drawings. I basically played with the M7 outline to make it into an M8. geoff Posted August 28, 2006 Share #46 Posted August 28, 2006 I don't fully understand this: lock only 90°? I think Luigi means that the new bottom plate is affixed to the camera and swings open 90° for access to the memory card and battery compartments. Or else the lock knob rotates only 90° instead of the 180° we're used to on the M cameras. --HC
ho_co Posted August 29, 2006 Share #48 Posted August 29, 2006 Oh, gosh. We need a new discussion topic--R10, for example? I mentioned that we had spent a lot of time trying to figure whether these M8, WiTri-Elmar & VF pics are genuine to a person who has reason to know. His response: "They're genuine." --HC I wonder what the new digital CL will look like.
