LVSBB6 Posted December 16, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I will be spending this year's christmas with sunshine and beaches in Punta Cana, just wanted to know if anyone here has been there before and have info on good shooting spots. I'm debating whether to bring the DMR or Digilux 3 with me for this trip, as I have never been there before and unsure of the crime rate there. Any tips is appreciated! Advertisement Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Hi LVSBB6, Take a look here Shooting tips in Punta Cana (Dominican Republix). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
symmetron Posted December 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 20, 2007 I went to Punta Cana this past summer. Had a great time. Hot, humid (really humid). Everything seemed a little musty when we got home. Not sure about this time of the year. Obviously, the quality of your accommodations will have a direct impact on your stay there. Hopefully you chose a nice hotel. We stayed at the Iberostar Bavarro (Bavarro is a province or state or whatever they call them there). The people are nice but the area's somewhat poor so carrying around a large camera system may be a little conspicuous (if you know what I mean) and uncomfortable because of the heat and humidity. I brought my D2 and FX-01, and used the FX-01 the most. I didn't really travel locally as it's not that kind of place; not much to see (some may disagree). If you bring your Dlux3, you'll be happy unless you're going there for some serious photography. Enjoy!
