Paul K Posted August 28, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted August 28, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) There have been a few occasions now where I've been out shooting and my SL2-S has frozen and rebooted. I did get an heat warning on one occasion but not in other cases. These have happened on hot days, but we're talking New England, not Death Valley. Has anyone else experienced the same? Solutions? LocalHero1953 Posted August 28, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted August 28, 2024 (edited) It hasn't happened to me, and I use the SL2-S for long run video indoors with Liveview on the LCD. It runs comfortably for an hour or more. UK conditions, typical room temperatures. Edited August 28, 2024 by LocalHero1953

LeicaR10 Posted August 29, 2024 Share #5 Â Posted August 29, 2024 Paul K, Â I shoot fairly often in Death Valley NP in the summer. Â Admittedly, not in the middle of the day, but from 5 AM to 9 AM and later in the dusk hours, 6 PM to 9 PM. Â My SL2-S has never frozen due to heat. Â The temperatures are the high 90s to 120+/- range. Â I do keep the camera and lenses in my pack when out hiking in those conditions. Â I am running Firmware 5.2 vs 6.0 as I don't want to lose the joy stick function for M lens use. Â If the condition presists, I would document the time, temperature, firmware used, take a screen shot of the heat warning and send it to Leica Customer Service and see what they have to say. Â The SL2-S is at least for me, the most stable of SL cameras made to date. Â Hopefully your SL2-S won't brick on you with the heat. Â Last, I never leave my camera gear exposed to the heat/sun in the car or out in the sun for extended periods. Â Leica does mention the temperature operating range in the manual....you might want to check that too. Â r/ Mark
