goodbokeh Posted August 23, 2024 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2024 Yes, it's salt residue. First blow off the lens with your air blower. Then place a few drops of a quality lens cleaning fluid on a new microfiber cloth and gently swirl clean a few times. Hopefully the spots are gone, then repeat with a different portion of the cloth to remove any cleaning fluid residue. Because there is now salt on the microfiber cloth I would either wash or toss it. Buy a high quality 49mm protection filter like a B&W MRC Nano, Breakthough X4 UV, Leica UV II and always keep it on unless in extreme flare conditions. Good luck.
